Sue Baines

Sue began piano lessons when she was seven and she was in love. Her first job when she was fourteen was playing piano for ballet classes which started her solo piano career. Her music studies took her from the University of Calgary/Bachelor of Music (1984) to Kitchener-Waterloo/Bachelor of Music Therapy at Wilfrid Laurier University (1989), to New York/MA in Music Therapy at New York University (1992) to Toronto and then to Vancouver in 1994 where she developed an eclectic music therapy practice. Sue began playing accordion in 2009 soon after joined Mojo Zydeco in 2009, Rusty Creek in 2018, and Nuvo Zydeco in 2022 and continues her music therapy and social justice research completing her PhD/University of Limerick in 2014 and publishing regularly on anti-oppressive music therapy topics. 

Chris Lindgard

Chris started the performing arts at the age of three and continued in ballet and theatre, studying at Grant McEwan University, choir, music and film, first at Cap U and then at DTUC. Her professional bass career began in 1980 when she was hired right out of music school to play with the Edmonton based blues band The Syndicate. In 1982 she co-founded and played in Batteries Not Included, an all-original punk band from Kaslo BC. Chris moved to Vancouver in 1986 where she quickly became a staple bassist in the city’s then thriving blues music scene, playing with such artists as Long John Baldry, Big Joe Duskin, Sue Foley, and Jeff Healey.
